Contemplative, Informal Service on Sunday Evenings at 5:30 pm
The Sunday Evening Service meets at 5:30 pm. This is an intimate, contemplative service with acoustic music, a conversational atmosphere, and quiet prayer. There is always a free, home-cooked community meal following the service at 6:30 pm. We meet in the chancel, the very front of the church, have discussions during the sermon, and often linger in Taizé music and silence. This service is all ages: our youngest attending aren't yet one year old, and our oldest attending are grandparents and great-grandparents.
This is a zero-expectation, shame-free space: come as you are, participate as much as you'd like, and just be for a while. Our hope is only to provide a quiet, soul-tending space for you to put aside the mess before the week starts.
Beginning March 1 (the First Sunday of Lent) the Evening Service and Community Supper will meet on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month. This is an experiement that we will evaluate in mid-May.
